Winter sets-in as temperature declines gradually in UP

Lucknow, Nov 27 (UNI) With mercury slipping below 10 degrees celsius at several regions in Uttar Pradesh, the weatherman today forecast a chillier weather in the days to come.

As per state Metereological department, dry continental winds have swept the whole of North India. Westerly disturbances and high humidity level in the air have conjointly brought a change in the weather conditions. The days have become hazy and misty.

In the last 24 hrs, the weather was mainly dry in all divisions of the state, while the night temperature changed little elsewhere.

The weather office said the day were appreciably below normal in Kanpur and Agra divisions, below normal in Gorakhpur and Varanasi dvisions and normal elsewhere. Lowest temperature in the plains was recorded at 9.4 degrees in Agra.

In the last 24 hrs, the minimum temperature in Muzaffarnagar was seven degrees, Meerut eight degrees, Kanpur and Lucknow 10 degrees each, Gorakhpur 12 degrees, while Bareilly recorded 13 degrees.

The weatherman has, meanwhile, forecast a mainly dry weather in all divisions of UP. He also predicted a clear sky with mist and fog during both morning and night.
