Security in capital tightened following Mumbai attacks

New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Security measures in Delhi have been tightened in the wake of serial attacks that have rocked Mumbai since last evening.

Senior police official said all vital installations, including the Metro Rail, have been secured with additional forces and extra deployments.

''We have stepped up vigil and patrolling all over the capital and intensified other necessary security measures. Also all border entry points, ISBTs, Railway Stations have been asked to remain alert,'' said a senior security officer.

Stop and check measures at various points have been initiated and sensitive areas put under extra surveillance, he said.

Besides this, police pickets at vantage points and additional security at government administrative blocks was reinforced.

As a precautionary measure, security around several VVIPs has been stepped up.

''We will keep reviewing the situation for any additional requirement,'' they said.
