Panchayat sevak caught while taking bribe

Darbhanga, Nov 27 (UNI) The vigilance sleuths today arrested a panchayat sevak, Rampukar Mahto of Kumhrauli panchayat, when he was taking bribe of Rs 2,000 from a teacher.

Vigilance sources said here that the arrested person had demanded Rs 2,000 from the teachers of Kumhrauli primary school for releasing their salary of the past four months.

The salary cheques being distributed among the teachers were signed in September. The teachers of the said school were deprived of their salary since May this year.

The Panchayat sevak was arrested from his residence under Kamtaul police station and was being brought to Muzaffarpur for his production before the vigilance court.
