Mayawati mourns V P Singh's demise

Lucknow, Nov 27 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today expressed grief over the death of former prime minister and ex-chief minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh and announced a three-day state mourning.

Ms Mayawati in her condolence message said his death was a great loss to the country and the state.

She said UP would always remember the leader for his valuable contributions towards people and society.

He died at Apollo hospital. Before becoming the Prime Minister, he also served as chief minister of UP.

No state functions would be held for the next three days, while the flags would remain half mast in his rememberance.
