Malhotra sets priorities for first 100 days of his govt
New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Barely two days ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP's Delhi Chief Ministerial candidate Vijay Kumar Malhotra today listed priorities for the first 100 days, including the clearance of the file of execution of Parliament Attack case convict Afzal Guru, of his government if his party came to power in the national capital.
''Scrapping of the BRT corridor, regularisation of unauthorised colonies and issuance of ration coupons to vulnerable sections of society will be other main priorities of my government if my party comes to power in the elections,'' Mr Malhotra told a news conference here.
He continued, ''My government will also lay focus on unemployment, full statehood for Delhi, filling vacant posts of teachers in government schools, putting a stop to unchecked crime against senior citizens and women of the capital, better water supply and checking the menace of corruption.'' Asked about the issue of sending back Bangladeshis to their country, he said that would take some time as the matter also involved the Centre and the Lok Sabha elections were still 3-4 months away.'' It will be a priority of my government but it would not be possible within 100 days.'' He said his government would also ensure that all proper arrangements were in place well in advance for the Commonwealth Games to be held in 2010.
