Hostage crisis continues at Trident, Taj; Commando action on
Mumbai, Nov 27 (UNI) The combined forces of the Army, Navy and National Security Guards (NSG) are engaged in pitched battles to flush out terrorists holding people hostage in two five-star hotels after a wave of 13 shootings and explosions in the financial capital left 101 dead and more than 200 injured.
Sources said the terrorists, who moved into the city via the sea route, were holding at least 40 people hostage at the historic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and the Trident Hotel.
Stray gunshots and occasional grenade attacks reverberated in both the plush hotels, with the terrorist attack continuing since 2200 hrs last night.
Police sources said one more injured person was admitted to the Harkishan Das hospital here today.
