High alert sounded in K'taka following Mumbai terror attack
Bangalore, Nov 27 (UNI) High alert has been sounded and security has been beefed up further at important locations throughout Karnataka in the wake of the terror attack in Mumbai that killed at least 100 people since last night.
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa convened a meeting of top officials at his home office this morning to take stock of the situation and reviewed the security measures.
Top police sources said the security had been tightened and additional forces deployed at strategic locations of economic and political importance. Exit and entry points from the city are being monitored with security personnel checking all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
Security had also been stepped up in second tier cities like Hubli, Mangalore and Mysore, the officials said UNI RS SR HVB1119
