High alert in Uttarakhand after Mumbai attacks
Dehra Dun, Nov 27 (UNI) The Uttarakhand police has beefed up security in the state in wake of the Mumbai terrorist attacks, which claimed more than 100 lives.
''The state has been put on a high alert and security intensified in all vital installations and sensitive places in the state,'' DGP Subash Joshi said.
''District police chiefs are on the alert and additional forces have been deployed in crowded areas to keep a tab on people coming into the state. Vehicles are being checked and hospitals and fire services have been asked to remain alert,'' he said.
''District Magistrates and SSP's had been asked to undertake security reviews at religious places and establishments and hold rehearsals within the next week,'' he informed.
