Former MLA arrested for violating poll code

Chhatarpur, MP, Nov 27 (UNI) Former Pawai legislator Ashok Veer Vikram Singh was arrested today on the charge of violating the model code of conduct in this district, police said.

Congress candidate from Bijawar assembly seat Rajesh Shukla had charged Mr Singh with abusing and threatening to kill him and firing gunshots in air to terrorise him.

Mr Singh, his security guard and driver were arrested after a case was registered. Mr Singh's wife Asha Rani is contesting as the BJP candidate from the Bijawar seat.
