Meet the cat born without eyelids

London, Nov 27 : A three-month-old tabby cat named Danny has been born without any eyelids.

The cat suffers from a rare condition, and is currently living in agony hair and other dust particles collect over his underdeveloped eyes. The feline, who was rescued from Ireland, requires an expensive and pioneering surgery that will attempt to graft new-eyelids onto his tiny frame.

The total projected cost of care is set at 3000 pounds, and his owners Josef and Victoria Stantejsky are finding it hard to collect the estimated amount.

"Our family Vet Dane Walker and the Northdown Referral unit have said that the eyelid graft will cost 1400," the Telegraph quoted Stantejsky, as saying.

"Until his eyes have developed enough for this we need to freeze the hair off his eyes to make him comfortable once a month and this costs 400 a go," he added.
