Badal condoles death of V P Singh
Chandigarh, Nov 27 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today deeply mourned the sad demise of former Prime Minister India V P Singh, who passed away in New Delhi after a prolonged illness.
In a condolence message, Mr Badal said that Mr Singh was a great statesman, seasoned politician, nationalist and a great human being. He said that Mr Singh's demise is a great lost to the nation in general and Punjab in particular as he had shown great concern for Punjab when the state was going through the tragic phase of terrorism.
"Mr Singh treated the Punjab problem with utmost gravity and sincerity and with unmatched compassion and went of his way to provide the much-needed healing touch to the bleeding hearts in Punjab", the Chief Minister in his message.
Shiromani Akali Dal President and Member Parliament, Sukhbir Singh Badal and Public Relations also conveyed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the members of the bereaved family.
