Winter session of Orissa Assembly begins

Bhubaneshwar, Nov 26 : The winter session of Orissa Assembly begins on Wednesday.

The first supplementary statement of expenditure for the year 2008-09 will be presented during the session.

The Orissa Municipal Corporation Amendment bill, Orissa Contingency Fund bill, the Orissa Reservation of Vacancies of Posts and Services Amendment bill and the Orissa Doctors and Health Service workers Protection bill are among eight bills to be introduced during the session.

The 27-day long session is likely to be stormy. The main opposition Congress is expected to grill the government on Kandhamal violence and administrative failure to properly manage the recent floods.
