Tax relief to contributors of Sri Lankan Tamils Relief Fund

Chennai, Nov 26 (UNI) The Centre has come forward to provide 100 per cent income tax relief to those who had contributed to the Sri Lankan Tamils Relief Fund.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes offered the concession following a request to this effect by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, an official release here said.

The tax relief is given on the lines of relief given to the contributions made to the Chief Minsiter's General Relief Fund, the release added.
