SP leader shot dead in UP district

Mirzapur, Nov 26: Senior and local Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Dayaram Yadav was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jigna area late last night, police said today.

Dayaram (50), resident of Baghera Khurd, was shot at near Sihaval village when he was returning home along with his friend.

Property feud is emerging as the reason behind the killing, police said.

Furious over the incident, a mob of SP activists today created ruckus after placing his body in the middle of a road.

A case has, meanwhile, been registered against three people, of which two have been named.

A man-hunt to nab the absconding killers was on.
