Rupee up at 49.80 vs US dollar in opening session

Mumbai, Nov 26: The rupee strengthened marginally by 15 paise at 49.80 against US dollar in the opening session on Wednesday, Nov 26, compared with the previous close of 49.95, on fresh selling of dollars by foreign banks and others.

The domestic currency later oscillated in a wide range between 49.80 and 50.00 per dollar in the intra-day trade.

Brokder said ''The rupee was slightly higher today due to a firm trend on the Indian bourses in the opening session, after the US Federal Reserve announced the latest rescue plan for the economy.''
