Residential, commercial units are now under same Act
Kolkata, Nov 26 (UNI) The West Bengal Apartment Ownership (Amendment) Bill was passed in the State Assembly today to bring residential and commercial units under the purview of the existing Act.
Introducing the bill, State Housing Minister Gautam Deb said over the years there had been a huge growth of buildings having both residential and commercial units across the state.
''It is, therefore, necessary to bring buildings having both residential and commercial units under the purview of the said Act,'' Mr Deb said.
He also informed that his department was adopting a slew of measures for the overall development of the housing sector.
