Rear Admiral Anurag G Thapliyal takes over
Visakhapatnam, Nov 26 (UNI) Rear Admiral Satish Soni, AVSM, NM today handed over command of the eastern fleet to Rear Admiral Anurag G Thapliyal.
A press release here said the change of guard took place at an impressive ceremony onboard the flag ship ''INS JALASHWA'. Rear Admiral Thapliyal is a specialist in navigation and direction.
He was commissioned in the Indian Navy in July 1977 and during his long and illustrious service he held prestigious operational and staff appointments both, afloat and ashore.
He had served in Visakhapatnam earlier as fleet operations officer, eastern fleet and more recently as the chief of staff in ENC.
