Over 50 lakh psychotropic drugs seized from chemist shop

Moga, Nov 26 (UNI) Over 50 lakh psychotropic drugs, including tablets, capsules and injections, worth of Rs 20 lakh were seized during a raid at a chemist shop here last night, police today said.

According to Moga SSP Ashok Baath, a team of health department on a tip-off raided a chemist shop and recovered illegally stored psychotropic drugs including 47 lakh tablets, three lakh capsules and 8,400 injections from the shop.

The owners of the shop used to manufacture these drugs any supply mainly in the rural areas of the sate, the SSP said.
