Mamma Mia! becomes UK's fastest selling DVD

London, November 26 : Mamma Mia! has become UK's fastest-selling DVD of all time after selling 1.7 million units on its first day.

The 2008 stage-to-film adaptation, which is based on the songs of successful pop group 'ABBA', displaced former title-holder 'Titanic's record sales of 1.2 million copies in 1998.

The film that stars Meryl Streep in its lead role is due to break the record for most DVDs sold in a week, reports the Sun.

The record-breaking movie, which had been released in July, has gathered 67 million pounds and continues to be screened in cinemas.
