International conference on Gandhi in Hungary
Vijayawada, Nov 26 (UNI) A three-day international conference on 'Gandhi in a globalised world and contemporary relevence of Gandhian thought' would be organised at the Central European University, Budapest, Hungary, on December one, Director of Atheist Centre Vijayam said today.
Speaking to reporters here on the sidelines of a conference Dr Vijayam said primary objective of the conference was to prove the contemporary relevance of Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy and political thought and present Gandhian legacy as a valid alternative to solve the problems of the globalised world.
The conference would deal with various facets of Gandhi and relevance of his thought in uplifting the poor, creating a civil society and creating an Indian model of secular state.
