Inspector of weights and measures arrested in bribery case

Banka, Nov 26 (UNI) An inspector of weights and measures was arrested by the sleuths of Bihar state vigilance bureau here today on charges of accepting bribe.

Official sources said Ramashrya Prasad was caught red-handed while he was accepting Rs 1,300 as bribe from one Shankar Shah of Sahebganj for the renewal of licence for a fertiliser shop.

The trap was laid on the basis of a complaint lodged by Mr Shah, who had alleged that the inspector was demanding illegal ratification for the renewal of the licences, sources said.

The arrested would be produced before the vigilance court in Patna tomorrow, according to sources.
