Heavy Rain affects power generation at NLC

Chennai, Nov 26 (UNI) Power generation at the Public sector Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) has come to a standstill, thanks to heavy rains, which affected the mining operation.

In the 600 MW Thermal power plant-I, power generation has come to nil, while it was just 58 MW in the 420 MW Thermal-I expansion and 47 MW in the 1470 MW Thermal-II power plants, sources in NLC said.

Power generation has come to a grinding halt as mining operation in all the three mines, was stopped following heavy rains, they said.
