Firing and explosion at four places in Mumbai
Mumbai, Nov 26 (UNI) At least 12 people were injured when unidentified people opened fire on passers-by at three places, including Central Railway's Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), late tonight.
Suspected to be the handiwork of terrorists, the firing spree was on for over an hour even as police cordoned off the entire area near the CST besides two five-star hotels in Colaba and Nariman Point.
On the Western Express Highway, an explosion took place in a parked taxi under an overbridge near the domestic airport.
The sources said the incidents appeared to be pre-planned because they took place nearly simultaneously at the three places.
Among the injured was a policeman.
Following the incident a high alert had been sounded by the police across the city and security at all points of entry into the commercial metropolis of the country had been beefed up.
All suburban trains have been cancelled following the attack, railway sources said.
