Fire in resort of Gulmarg, 32 structures gutted
Srinagar, Nov 26 (UNI) A major fire damaged a hotel at world famous ski resort of Gulmarg, while 32 other structures, including Durga Nag trust building, were gutted in different fire incidents in the Kashmir valley overnight.
Official sources said today that fire broke out in a hotel at Gulmarg early this morning, causing major damage to the hotel at a time when the ski resort was ready to receive tourists, skiers and adventure lovers.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known, they said.
Sources said fire broke out at Taharatpora Handwara main market under police station Vilgam in the frontier district of Kupwara early today.
They said 32 shops were gutted in the fire, destroying property worth crores of rupees.
Due to electric short circuit fire broke out in the two storied building of Durga Nag Trust at Dal Gate rented out to Ramesh Kumar and Ganesh Kumar.
