22 shops gutted in a major fire in Kashmir
Srinagar, Nov 26: At least 22 shops were gutted in a devastating fire in the frontier district of Kupwara, going to polls in the third phase on Nov 30.
Official sources said the fire brokeout in a shopping complex under mysterious circumstances at Vilgam in north Kashmir late last night.
However, before the fire tenders could reach the spot, the leaping flames engulfed the entire complex.
About half a dozen shops were saved by the fire personnel after fighting the flames for several hours.
They said at least 22 shops were completely gutted, damaging property worth crores of rupees.
The incident took place three days before the polling here to be held on November 30.
However, there was no loss of life or injury to anyone.
