War of words ensues among top political parties ahead of Assembly polls
Morena (M.P.)/Lucknow, Nov 25 : Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi lambasted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday in Madhya Pradesh's Morena District, and said its tenure in the state has been of inactivity.
Accusing BJP for making false promises Gandhi said, "For last five years the state is being ruled by the BJP. They made many promises. They promised that every part of Madhya Pradesh would have roads. They promised electricity. They also promised water for every household of the state. In my opinion what is utmost important in politics is the people's trust. Therefore, if you make promises then fulfill them and if you cannot fulfill them, then don't make promises."
Gandhi along with Party's youth leader and Member of Parliament (MP) Jyotiraditya Sindhia was in the city to address a public rally as part of the party's poll campaign for the Assembly polls.
Meanwhile, BJP chief Rajnath Singh, expressed full confidence in wining elections in four poll bound states.
"I am fully confident that our party will win assembly elections in all the four states namely Delhi, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madya Pradesh," said Singh.
He also said in future the number of allies in BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will also increase.
"I think the number of allies of NDA will increase. In the era of coalition you cannot rule out the possibility of alliance," added Singh.
Polling for all the 230 Assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh will be held on November 27.
Apart from Madhya Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, four other states - Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Mizoram and New Delhi will go to polls in November-December.
These elections are expected to be a run down to the forthcoming general elections due in early 2009 that would test the political temperature in the country.
