UP to experience nipping cold

Lucknow, Nov 25 (UNI) The blowing of cold winds, accompanied by a fall in the minimum temperature, foretold the entry of nipping cold in the coming days in Uttar Pradesh.

The day started with mist, but the rest of it saw a bright and sunny weather.

Assistant Metereologist of the UP weather office, Ram Prasad, said the weather in the state was affected by the Western Disturbances.

The temperature plummeted when the Westerly Winds crossed the state. The Winds, which had once passed through the state, were about to approach it soon again, the weathermen added.

In the last 24 hours, Meerut remained the coldest, with the minimum temperature at 6.7 degrees Celsius, which was four degrees below the normal.

The minimum temperature in Lucknow was recorded at 10.2 degrees, Kanpur at 8.4 degrees, Bareilly at 12 degrees, Bahraich at 10.5 degrees, Varanasi at 10.5 degrees and Gorakhpur at 10.8 degrees.

The Metereological department, forecast dry weather for the state in the next 24 hours.

The sky would mainly be clear and mist/fog would be observed during the night/morning.

In Lucknow, the minimum tempertaure would be around 10 degrees, they predicted.
