Re stronger at 49.72 against US dollar

Mumbai, Nov 25: The rupee strengthened by 37 paise to almost one week high at 49.72 against the US dollar in the opening session on Tuesday, Nov 25, compared with the previous close at 50.09, on fresh selling of dollars by foreign banks and others.

The domestic currency later fluctuated in a range between 49.74 and 49.92 per dollar in the intra-day trade. The rupee was stronger today in almost a week, supported by positive stock markets and a weaker dollar, dealers said.
