Pachyderm injures GJM leader in West Bengal
Siliguri, Nov 25: A Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) leader was seriously injured after a pachyderm attacked him at Naxalbari area under Kurseong forest subdivision in Darjeeling district.
Police here on Tuesday, Nov 25 said the GJM leader was immediately rushed to a nursing home at Siliguri where his condition was stated to be serious.
Enraged with the incident which occurred last night, GJM activists torched a beat office situated at the Kurseong forest subdivison.
Later, three fire tenders brought the blaze under control.
Huge contingent of police forces has been deployed as tension prevails in the area.
