Muslim intellectuals hand over appreciation letter for Obama

Mumbai, Nov 25 (UNI) A delegation of Muslim intellectuals and religious scholars today handed over an appreciation letter and a memento of ''Taj Mahal'' to the Consul General of USA, Paul Folmsbee for the US president elect Barack Hussein Obama.

In a ceremony organised by All India Muslim Mahaz in the office of US Consul General, the Islamic scholars said the victory of Mr Obama has rekindled the light of hope in the hearts of billions across the world.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahaz president Hayder Azam said, ''On behalf of the Muslim Community of India, we seek blessings from the almighty (Allah) for the success of Barack Obama, and hope that under his leadership, there will be peace across the world and the relation between our countries (India and USA) will become stronger.''
