Maruti launches A-Star in Andaman

Port Blair, Nov 25 (UNI) Maruti Suzuki today launched its latest variant in the small car segment, the A-Star, here.

In terms of price, the car is positioned above the Alto and has the appearance of a Swift, but is much smaller in size, powered by a 998 cc cylinder and 12-valve KB series engine.

''The A-Star is a low maintenance car with 19.6 km per litre mileage. The 998 cc engine has been carefully designed to be eco-friendly and fuel efficient with its light weight construction and innovative technologies to improve combustion and minimise friction,'' S K Nanda, Chief Executive Officer, Agency House, Maruti dealer in Andaman told newspersons at Port Blair after the launch.

Within a day from the launch, 15 cars have been booked so far, he added.

The cost of the LXi model is Rs 3.81 lakh while the cost of VXi and ZXi is Rs 4.17 lakh and Rs 4.47 lakh respectively in these far-flung islands, the CEO stated.

He also said the car will be available in Andaman in all nine attractive colors.
