Major tragedy averted in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 25 (UNI) Security forces today averted a major tragedy when they detected and defused a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the frontier district of Kupwara which goes to the polls on November 30.

Official sources said security forces during a routine patrolling detected an IED at Bomhama on Kupwara road to target security forces and politicians.

The road was immediately closed and Bomb Disposal squad (BDS) later defused the IED without causing any damage.
