Five injured as car smashes into truck

Phagwara, Nov 25 (UNI) Five occupants of a car sustained serious injuries when the car in which they were travelling collided with a truck near Cheherru on NH-I this evening, police reports here said.

The injured were going from Ludhiana to Jalandhar when the mishap occured.

The injured, including three women were admitted at the local civil hospital. Police has registered a case.

In another incident, an unidentified woman was run over by a train near Cheherru on Phagwara-Jalandhar rail section this afternoon. GRP has registered a case and sent the deadbody for post morterm examination to the civil hospital.
