Congress activists stage protest against CPI-TDP tie-up
Hyderabad, Nov 24 (UNI) Congress activists led by Lok Sabha member V Arunkumar staged a protest against the tie-up between the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Communist party of India (CPI), here today.
The activists assembled before the memorial raised for three communist activists killed in police firing during the previous TDP regime and protested against the steep hike in power tariff by observing silence for sometime.
Addressing the activists, Mr Arunkumar demanded an explanation from the CPI that how it could align with the party which was responsible for killing of its activists. ''The souls of the deceased would not rest in peace as the CPI had decided to have truck with the TDP for the next Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh,'' he said.
