Terror suspect brought to Kannur

Kannur, Nov 24 (UNI) Terror suspect Abdul Jabbar, who was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Hyderabad yesterday, was brought to Thalasserry today.

He will be produced before a magistrate in Thalassery tomorrow, police said.

Jabbar, hailing from Tirur in Malappuram district, is believed to have escaped during an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir in October last, while two of his friends were shot to death.

He is suspected to have links with Kashmiri militants. With his arrest, the total number of peoples arrested by the SIT rose to eight.
