Poll code violation, SP candidate gets notice
Chhatarpur, MP, Nov 24 (UNI) The Election Commission has issued notice to SP candidate from Rajnagar assembly seat Dipesh Tiwari in a case of violation of model code of conduct.
Rajnagar district returning officer S N Shukla said notice has been issued to the SP candidate for allegedly inducing electorate and clarification has been sought from him. The Election Commission has been informed about the matter.
According to police, SP President Mulayam Singh Yadav had to come to Rajnagar to address an election meeting on November 21 during which supporters of Mr Tiwari had distributed notes to a few people.
A case was registered against the SP candidate at Rajnagar police station. Mr Tiwari was arrested on the next day and was later released on bail.
