Injured Law students seek anticipatory bail
Chennai, Nov 24 (UNI) The students of Dr Ambedkar Law College, who were injured in the group clash on November 12 and are still in the Government General hospital, today moved anticipatory bail petitions before the Pricipal Sessions Court, Chennai.
On behalf of the three students Bharathi Kannan, Aiyathurai and Arumugam, their parents submitted the petitions stating that their boys were in the hospital in a critical stage.
''The city police have registered a false case against them and were trying to arrest them and lodge them in the prison. Even they cannot understand what is going on in and around them,'' they contended.
Meanwhile, 26 arrested students, including one Chithirai Selvan, who is also in the Royapettah Govarnment Hospital also filed bail petitions.
The City Public Prosecutor (CPP) Shajahan took notice. The petitions would come up for hearing before the Pricipal Sessions Judge Devadoss, tomorrow.
