Godda MP appears in court, pleads innocent
Jamtara, Nov 24 (UNI) Godda MP Furqan Ansari appeared in a local court in connection with a seven-year-old case here today.
On January 23, 2003, Ansari and his followers caused damage to a foundation stone, meant for policeline at Benagaon and scheduld to be inaugurated by then Chief Minister Babulal Marandi.
Ansari had ben protesting against the inauguration of the policeline there.
During today's proceedings, Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Ranjit Yadav asked the MP to clarify his position to which the latter claimed his innocence.
Immediately after the incident, a case had been lodged with the Jamtara police station with Ansari being made an accused charged under Sections 341, 353, 427 and 506.
