EC extends till Dec 2 claims on revision of rolls

Chennai, Nov 24 (UNI) The Election Commission has extended till December two, filing of claims and objections for the ongoing summary revision of electoral rolls in Tamil Nadu with January one, 2009, as the qualifying date.

Talking to newspersons here today, the State Chief Electoral Officer(CEO) C Naresh Gupta said the booth level agents of recognised political parties could furnish information to the Booth Level officers, AEROs and EROs, till that date on cases of mismatch of photos and missing or surplus names in the Electoral rolls.

Mr Gupta, however, said there was no change in the date of final publication of electoral rolls and it would be published as scheduled on January 10.
