Brisk sale in Sonepur cattle fair
Sonepur, Nov 24: Sonepur cattle fair is doing brisk business as cattle and birds were sold to the tune of Rs two crore every day, during the first ten days of the fair.
District Magistrate cum secretary of the fair committee, Prabhat Kumar Sah said here today that lots of foreigners were visiting the fair and till date 42 people from Japan, France, UK, Switzerland, New zeland, Australia, US and Vietnam enjoyed the fair.
He said special cottages have been constructed in the fair premises with all modern facilities to cater the need of the tourists.
Mr Sah further informed that over 15 lakh people have visited the fair this year so far.
Giving details of the sale, he said cattles and birds were sold to the tune of Rs 8,83 79635 in the fair.
He added that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, Governor R L Bhatiya and several other ministers in also visited the fair.
