APSCHE Chairman inaugurates 62nd ISAS
Tirupati, Nov 24 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman K C Reddy today inaugurated the three-day 62nd annual conference of Indian Society of Agricultural Statistics organised by Acharya N G Ranga at Agricultural University held here today.
In his key note address, Dr Reddy said statistics was the backbone of agricultural research, particularly in developing appropriate technologies at lab level. It also plays a major role in formulating agricultural policies.
''ICAR has taken up steps to bring uniformity in the agricultural education in UG and PG curriculum in all the Agricultural Universities through implementation of the fourth Deans Committee recommendations,'' he said.
The conference is conducting two critical symposia on ''Accelerated Growth of Agriculture through Information Technology'' and ''Agricultural Statistics for planning.'' The National Agricultural policy lays emphasis on the use of IT to accelerate growth of agriculture in India, he said.
