Two securitymen injured during encounter in Assam
Guwahati, Nov 23 (UNI) Altogether two securitymen were injured during an encounter between ULFA militants and police personnel in the Geleky area under Assam's Sivsagar district today.
Police said acting on a tip-off about the presence of 15 ULFA cadres, a group of police personnel surrounded the residence of one Siba Sharma.
During the operation, an encounter took place in which the security personnel were injured, police informed.
They had been admitted to Sivsagar General Hospital where they were stated to be out of danger, sources added.
Meanwhile, another ULFA cadre Dhiren Nath was nabbed from Tezpur area and eight kg of RDX was recovered from his possession, according to police.
