Seven including six students killed in road accident
Gangtok, Nov 23 (UNI) Altogether six students and a driver were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in fell into a ditch at Mangan in Lower Tumin early today.
Police said Class XII students of Mangan senior secondary school were going to Kalimpong in Darjeeling district for a picnic.
The vehicle slipped around 2000 ft down the North Sikkim highway near Rathong river at lower Tumin, East Sikkim at around 0530hrs.
Some of the bodies were recovered and a search was on to trace the others, police informed.
There were seven occupants in the vehicle.
Superintendent of Police (East Sikkim) MS Tuli and senior police officers from Gangtok have rushed to the spot.
