General strike on Nov 25 called to protest Imphal bomb blast

Imphal, Nov 22 (UNI) : The Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the Ragailong bomb blast has called a 24 hour general strike on Nov 25 next.

The JAC has stated the government has failed to take up any action even though 17 persons died in the bomb blast at Ragailong Pandon , Imphal on Oct 21 night. It decided to Call the strike to urge the government to pursue the matter. So far no one involved in the incident has been nabbed and the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) had claimed responsibility for the blast.

The CM , O Ibobi Singh had assured that the government will provide all necessary assistance to the next of kins of all those killed and those injured in the attack.

In the blast 17 persons died and 20 persons were seriously injured. The victims had gathered to witness a game of dice after dinner. Police said enquiry was still going on how the bomb attack was carried out in such a high security zone.

The Assam Rifles, the elite Police commando are stationed in large numbers near the blast site.
