EC serves notice to BJP on disputed photographs in manifesto

Bhopal, Nov 23 (UNI) The Election Commission has served a notice to BJP to remove by tomorrow the controversial photographs of government officers and former president APJ Abdul Kalam from its manifesto for Madhya Pradesh assembly election.

State Election Office sources said the EC ordered the BJP to reply by 1100 hrs on November 25, failing which the EC might initiate action for violation of model code of conduct.

The notice was served following a complaint filed by the Congress to state Chief Electoral Officer J S Mathur, who forwarded it to the EC.
