BJP seeking power for selfish interests, not development: Sonia
New Delhi, Nov 23 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi today criticised the BJP saying that it was seeking power in Delhi for its selfish interests and not for the development of the Union Territory.
Addressing a rally in North west Delhi, the UPA Chairperson said the BJP wants power for its selfish interests. On the other hand, Congress wants to serve the people of Delhi and carry forward the pace of development that it has done in the last ten years.
Speaking at the rally at Mangolpuri, in support of Congress candidate and Delhi Urban Development Minister Rajkumar Chouhan, Ms Gandhi said the Congress was concerned about everybody's future while the other parties were only indulging in divisive politics.
''I am confident that people will see through the motives of these parties and understand the spirit of the Congress and vote for the party in the coming elections so that the pace of development continues and greater glory is added to its prestige.'' The rally was also attended by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Jaiprakash Agarwal, Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit and Congress MPs Jagdish Tytler, Sajjan Kumar, Krishna Teerath, Ajay Maken and Kapil Sibal.
