Incessant rain lashes Pondy

Puducherry, Nov 22: Incessent rain lashed Puducherry and its suburbs under the impact of the low pressure over the bay inundating several low lying areas here on Friday, Nov 21 night.

A release from weather office said here today, Puducherry received 65.6 mm rainfall for 12 hours ending at 0830 hours As the rain accompanied by lightning and thunder struck Puducherry, several trees were uprooted and the low lying areas were inundated.

Meanwhile, Balasubramani of Mudaliarpet was electrocuted last night, while attending to repair work in his television set, the release added.
