Scholarships distributed among poor children
Hyderabad, Nov 22 (UNI) The city chapter of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math today distributed quarterly educational scholarships to children belonging to poor families.
Actress Namrata Shirodkar distributed the cheques to student beneficiaries from the Ranga Reddy district, a press release here said.
The Math would provide scholarships to 5,000 children of farmers living below poverty line in various districts of Andhra Pradesh.
The children would receive a monthly stipend until they finish their education, subject to their performance in their studies, the release added.
The Math is also involved in many other charity projects, including a multi-specialty hospital providing free healthcare to the poor, educational institutions, vocational training centers and orphanages.
