Rashid Alvi refers to PoK as ''Azad Kashmir''
New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) It was a diplomatic faux pas that was committed by Mufti Mohammed Sayeed when he was the Union Home Minister, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad at an election rally in Jammu and Kashmir in 1996 and today by senior Congress member from Rajya Sabha, Rashid Alvi.
Mr Rashid Alvi, while putting a question to Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, referred to Pakistan- Occupied Kashmir (POK) as ''Azad Kashmir,'' little knowing that India's policy is to call it PoK.
Mr Zardari was addressing the HT Summit from Islamabad via video conferencing when Mr Alvi asked him whether ''Azad Kashmir'' would remain with Pakistan.
Mr Alvi is a senior Congress member of the Rajya Sabha.
