Notification for 16 J

Srinagar, Nov 22 (UNI) A notification was today issued for holding elections in 16 assembly constituencies spread over five districts in the sixth of seven-phase elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

The constituencies for which the notification was issued included Noorabad, Kulgam, Home Shalibugh, Devsar in Kulgam district, Doru, Kokernag, Shangus, Bijbehera, Anantnag, Pahalgam in Anantnag district in Kashmir valley and Kishtwar and Inderwal in Kishtwar district, Doda and Bhaderwah in Doda district and Ramban and Banihal in Ramban district of Jammu region.

November 29 will be the last date for making nominations, scrutiny of nomination papers will take place the next day on December 1.

The last date for withdrawal of candidatures has been fixed as December 3. Polling in 11 assembly constituencies will take place on December 17.

The authorities have decided to set up 1,268 polling booths for 11,65,409 voters, including 5,62,286 women.
